OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHoly Wisdom Monastery in Middleton, Wisconsin, the first ecumenical Benedictine community of sisters in the US where I am grateful to have been welcomed as a twice-divorced Catholic member of Sunday Assembly and admitted into the community of oblates who live as lay men and women according to our own self-directed rule. The Monastery is devoted to care for the earth and just won the international Assisi Award for Faith-based Conservation from the Society for Conservation Biology based in Columbia. DSCN4231The Christine Center is tucked away in the deep woods of Clark County where deer and hummingbirds abound, the hermitages have names like Peace, Love, Ahimsa, and Sun, and the spirit of the Great Mother prevails in the great round room, the good food, and the jewel-box chapel with its seven exquisite stained glass windows that evoke the chakras. I go to write and to be renewed when I am not participating in a retreat or sitting on the board.  Visit The Christine Center.

  1. I met you at the Christine Center many years ago. I really enjoyed your tribute to Marianna. You are a gifted writer of the Spirit. Keep going. – Blessing on you. Barbara Flaherty
